The character known as the blind king in the Bhagavad Gita is Dhritarashtra. In the epic Mahabharata, of which the Bhagavad Gita is a part, Dhritarashtra is portrayed as the ruler of Hastinapura who is born blind. His blindness serves as a powerful metaphor for his inability to perceive the moral righteousness of the conflict between his sons, the Kauravas, and the Pandavas. This inability to see extends beyond the physical; he struggles with ethical blindness as he is unable to take a stand against the injustices committed by his own children. His character provides a lens through which the reader can explore themes of power, responsibility, and the consequences of one's choices. The dialogues between Dhritarashtra and Sanjaya, who narrates the events of the battlefield to him, reveal his inner turmoil and the gravity of the impending war, highlighting his helplessness in the situation.

In contrast, Krishna plays the role of the divine charioteer and advisor, while Sanjaya serves as the seer who narrates the events of the battle to Dhritarashtra. Pandu, on the other hand, is the father of the Pandavas and does not share the same tragic blindness
